Coming to a point where there are so many layers
So many options
So many things
Going on and on and on
It feels like there is no escape from doing, doing, doing
It feels like there is no escape from trying to always
Stay on top of friendships
Stay on top of ‘work-life’ balance
Stay on top of one’s goals and hobbies
Stay on top of networking
Stay on top of life

The numbness that comes with being pulled in too many directions
Losing the ability to speak one’s mind
A mind that is lost in the fog
Totally fatigued
Entirely stressed
A mind that needs soothing
That needs rest
That needs a chance to recover from the go, go, go
That needs compassion

To start cultivating the mindfulness that was built into the family home
The cool morning hikes with the dogs
Reading in the conservatory
Putting sore legs up and watching a show in the evening
Table tennis during lunch breaks
The evening strolls as the sun sets
Cuddles with the dogs on the couch
The warmth of the fire
The knowledge that friends are only a half an hour's walk away
The feeling of community
The feeling of security

These are the things that add up
These are the things that make the home a home
These take time and effort and hard work

So start making that house a home
That town a place of security
By:
Putting your feet up after a hard day
Installing photos around the place
Having friends around more often
Becoming a local at the cafe, football pitch, gym class, church group
Start slowly crafting the things that
One by one
Will make that house a home

Action before mood.
